Frequently asked
How does Crewcase sync between my devices?
Through a server in Frankfurt. Your trips live on your device first and sync from there, so the crew sees the same state and switching devices costs you nothing. At launch that is the iPhone, with the iPad to follow.
What’s the difference between “personal” and “shared”?
“Personal” means everyone in the crew packs that item themselves, for example their own toothbrush. “Shared” means one person packs it for everyone, for example the tent.
Does Crewcase work when I travel alone?
Yes. The split into personal and shared only kicks in once somebody joins you. On your own it stays a quick packing list with templates, weather and reminders.
Do I need an account?
You do not have to sign up. Crewcase creates an anonymous account on first launch so syncing works; you give us nothing for it. Only when you share a trip do we offer “Sign in with Apple”, so your trips survive a change of device. Decline and you lose no feature. For the waiting list here we only store your email address.
Will there be an Android version?
An Android version is in development. We will name a date once it has really been tested. At launch, Crewcase is available for iPhone.
